In November 2022, frustrated by mainstream media misinformation about Twitter (now X) and Elon Musk, I decided to create a positive, truth-focused publication instead. I tweeted the idea, tagging @elonmusk, and to my surprise it received over 3,900 likes, hundreds of encouraging replies, and even a heart from Elon himself. The first article was published on November 21, 2022, and the domain www.whatsuptwitter.com was later purchased with a generous donation.
UPDATE – April 22, 2026 As Elon’s companies continue to evolve and merge capabilities, this publication is rebranding to What’s Up SpaceXAI. Most articles will continue to be available on What’s Up Tesla, while this site now focuses on the broader ecosystem including SpaceX and xAI.
The mission stays the same: accurate information and optimistic coverage of the inspiring future we’re building.
Gail Alfar
Gail holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film/Radio/TV and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She spent years caring for patients of all ages across multiple hospitals and schools in the Texas Hill Country. A U.S. Army Veteran Sharpshooter and former LBJ Museum tour guide, she originally hails from North Dakota and now lives in Austin, Texas.
She is the founder of What’s Up Tesla, where she continues to write about Tesla innovations, Full Self-Driving, Optimus, energy, and the path to amazing abundance. She also hosts Gail’s Tesla Podcast. Most of her articles remain available on What’s Up Tesla.
She is noted for being the curator, developer, and preserver of the largest collection of accurate transcripts of Elon Musk’s talks, podcasts, interviews, and more. She has painstakingly worked to ensure the highest level of accuracy in these verbatim records so that Elon’s words and ideas are preserved for everyone.
With the ongoing convergence of Elon Musk’s companies, she has expanded her work to What’s Up SpaceXAI, applying the same positive, truth-seeking approach to coverage of X, SpaceX, xAI, and the broader ecosystem that is working to make humanity multiplanetary and build a future of amazing abundance.
A proud mom of five grown children and happily married, Gail owns a Tesla Model 3, Model Y, FSD, and three Powerwalls. Her enthusiasm for making life better on Earth and beyond led her to meet Elon Musk twice. She remains a dedicated supporter of humanity’s multi-planetary and sustainable future.
