How What’s Up X started

Gail Alfar explains,

“On November 15, 2022 I woke up early and had a strong feeling that instead of being angry at how the mainstream media spreads misinformation about Twitter 2.0 and Elon Musk, I could take that frustration and use that energy to create a publication that strived to communicate accurate information about Twitter and leave the reader feeling hopeful and optimistic about the future.

Right then and there I wrote these words and tweeted them, tagging Elon Musk in the tweet: I’m considering starting a blog in support of Elon Musk’s Twitter. There are enough negative, sad places to read others’ opinions, it would be nice to have a place that’s encouraging and positive. @elonmusk What do you think? To my surprise that tweet got over 3,900 likes and over 600 people encouraged me to start this publication! Soon after, Elon Musk also noticed the tweet and gave it a heart! On November 21 I published the first article. On February 23 the domain http://www.whatsuptwitter.com was purchased with a donation.”
